I am obsessed with scarves. I have an entire drawer dedicated to them, I have so many. Over the years, I have found three favorite ways to tie a scarf that are foolproof for everyday wear (and look chic, too!).
The Basic Bandana
Best for: Square scarves
Hold the scarf by one corner so it loosely folds onto itself into two triangles. Wrap the scarf around your neck once so that all three triangle points fall in front.
Best for: Medium-weight scarves
Hold the scarf in the middle with one hand so that both ends fall at about the same length. Wrap the doubled scarf around the back of your neck and thread one end into the loop. Twist the loop and thread the other end in the back side.
The Loop Knot
Best for: Lightweight scarves
Start with the middle of the scarf on the front of your neck with the ends falling down your back. Crisscross the two ends behind your neck and bring the ends in front of you. Loosely loop the ends once.
